Welcome to Lacamas Valley Farm!

I decided to start my blog and share what I've learned about goats since I started this adventure. This first post will be short, but I hope you check back often to learn along the way.

If you are new to goats, don't worry. We've all been exactly where you are. You will make mistakes and you will have successes. The key is to never stop learning. New ideas come out all of the time and there are many people out there who love to talk goats with you. Including me!

One thing I've learned is that what works for some, doesn't always work for all. Goats are rewarding, but they can be difficult as well. Feeding in the winter, during a torrential rainstorm, or in freezing weather isn't fun. Pressing your nose into your goat's neck is and it helps you destress.

We are working towards becoming as self-sufficient as possible. Having goats helps us achieve that by giving us a very important food: milk.

Again, glad you are here. Check back often!
